EXCHANGE OF NOTES BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE HUNGARIAN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS. DONE IN NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 21, 1973.

Excellency:

I have the honor to inform Your Excellency that the Government of the Republic of the Philippines desirous of developing and strengthening Friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Government of the Hungarian People's Republic in accordance with the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect for each other's sovereignty, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, has decided Io establish diplomatic relations at Embassy level between the Republic of the Philippines and the Hungarian People's Republic and to exchange mutually accredited Ambassadors.

Subject to the mutual agreement of the two Governments, this Letter and Your Excellency's Letter in reply, shall constitute a formal Agreement on this matter.

Simultaneous announcement of the Agreement shall be made on Saturday, 29 September 1973, in Manila and Budapest.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

Excellency,

I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your letter of September 28, 1973 and on behalf of my Government, to inform you that guided by the same desire to develop and strengthen friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines in accordance with the principles of peaceful co-existence, mutual respect for each other's sovereignty, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, the Government of the Hungarian People's Republic is ready to establish diplomatic relations at Embassy level between the Hungarian People's Republic and the Republic of the Philippines and to exchange mutually accredited Ambassadors.

My present Note in reply constitutes a formal Agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries.

Simultaneous announcement of the Agreement shall be made on Saturday, September 29, 1973 in Budapest and Manila.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
