LEGISLATIVE LIBRARY SERVICE:

Legislative Library Service is responsible for the selection, acquisition and compilation of reference materials relevant to legislation. It organizes and maintains various library collections and service facilities to strengthen information and reference services in the Senate. It provides reference and research assistance to the Senators and their staff, other legislative researchers, Secretariat officials and employees of the Senate.

LEGISLATIVE RECORDS AND ARCHIVES SERVICE:

Legislative Records and Archives Service is the repository of all legislative records of the Senate. It is mandated to organize, preserve, maintain, secure and make available for reference and research the legislative records and historical records of the Senate.

RULE XLVIII

Documents Filed with the Senate

SEC. 131. All documents filed with the Senate after consideration shall be kept and preserved in the Archives of the Senate. No memorial, petition, or any other document confidential in nature may be copied, withdrawn, or taken away from the Archives or the Office of the Secretary or of any committee without the permission of the Secretary.

SEC. 132. When the documents sought to be copied or withdrawn are in the opinion of the Senate not confidential in nature, the Secretary may issue certified copies thereof.

SEC. 133. Legislative committee secretaries of the Senate Secretariat shall deliver to the Archives within seven (7) days after final adjournment of the Congress, all papers and documents in their possession which are related to legislative measures referred to their respective committees.
