PROCLAMATION NO. 1225

DECLARING FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 1998 AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF CAVITE

WHEREAS, General Emilio Aguinaldo commissioned Julian Felipe to compose a march to be played during the declaration of Philippine Independence;

WHEREAS, June 5 marks the centennial of the composition of the Philippine National Anthem;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, June 5, 1998 as a special day in the City of Cavite.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 28th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and ninety eight.
