[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4270, June 19, 1965 ]
AN ACT CONSTITUTING THE SUBPROVINCES OF APAYAO AND KALINGA IN THE MOUNTAIN PROVINCE INTO A SEPARATE SCHOOL DIVISION, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-NINE HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Twenty-nine hundred twenty-five is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. There shall be three school divisions in the Mountain Province, one in the Subprovince of Benguet and the City of Baguio, one in the subprovinces of Bontoc and Ifugao, and one in the subprovinces of Apayao and Kalinga. The permanent station of the Superintendent of Schools of the Division of Benguet and Baguio shall be in the City of Baguio; the permanent station of the Superintendent of Schools of the Division of Bontoc of and Ifugao shall be in the Municipality of Bontoc; and the permanent station of the Superintendent of Schools of the Division of Apayao and Kalinga shall be in the Municipality of Tabuk. The City Council of Baguio is authorized to provide additional compensation to the Superintendent of Schools of the Division of Benguet and Baguio, payable from the funds of said city."
SEC. 2. Section two of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SEC. 2. The Director of Public Schools shall reorganize the school division of the Mountain Province into three school divisions commencing with the school year nineteen hundred sixty-five to nineteen hundred sixty-six, in accordance with the provisions of this Act."
SEC. 3. The necessary sums to carry out the purposes of this Act for the school year nineteen hundred sixty-five to nineteen hundred sixty-six are authorized to be appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated. The sums necessary for the purpose in subsequent school years shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.Approved, June 19, 1965.
