AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE SECRETARY OF JUSTICE TO GRANT SCHOLARSHIPS TO GRADUATES OF THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES TO SPECIALIZE IN THE UNITED STATES IN BIBLIOGRAPHY AND LIBRARY SCIENCE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:SECTION 1. The Secretary of Justice is authorized to appoint every two years, upon the recommendation of the Board of Regents of the University of the Philippines, not more than five students who shall have successfully completed the course of library science in the College of Liberal Arts, to complete their studies in said science and in bibliographic science in a university of the United States designated by said Secretary of Justice.SEC. 2. The sum of twelve thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry out the purposes of this Act during the year nineteen hundred and eighteen.SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.Approved, February 18, 1918.
