[ Act No. 1974, April 13, 1910 ]
AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED EIGHTEEN HUNDRED AND ONE, ENTITLED "AN ACT PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION OF ONE MILLION PESOS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SCHOOLS IN THE BARRIOS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS," AS AMENDED BY ACT NUMBERED NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN, BY PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH SCHOOLS UPON PUBLIC LANDS OR LANDS OF THE MUNICIPAL, PROVINCIAL, OR INSULAR GOVERNMENT AND BY PROHIBITING THEIR SALE OR USE FOR OTHER THAN SCHOOL PURPOSES.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:SECTION 1. Paragraph (c) of section one of Act Numbered Eighteen hundred and one., as amended by Act Numbered Nineteen hundred and fourteen, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(c) The buildings above mentioned shall be erected upon lands of the ownership of the municipal, provincial, or insular Government, or which shall be donated for such end, or upon public lands which have been reserved for such purpose in accordance with the provisions of the Public Land Act: Provided, however, That the titles to all except public lands must be in each case registered in the Court of Land Registration, but the Secretary of Public Instruction may authorize the beginning of the construction work upon the filing of the application for registration in the said Court of Land Registration: And provided further, That the drawing up of the plan and specifications and the execution of the work shall be carried out in accordance with the rules and regulations which sale or use of shall be prescribed by the Secretary of Public Instruction: And provided further, That no building erected wholly or in part from the funds appropriated by this Act may be sold or used for other than school purposes except with the approval of the Governor-General."
SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the same shall take effect on its passage, in accordance with section one of Act Numbered Nineteen hundred and forty-five of the Philippine Legislature.Enacted, April 13, 1910.
