AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED TWELVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT, ENTITLED "AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING: REGISTERS OF DEEDS TO PERFORM CERTAIN DUTIES OF COMMERCIAL REGISTERS AS DEFINED IN TITLE TWO OF THE CODE OF COMMERCE, AND PROVIDING THAT THE DOCUMENTING, REGISTRY, ENROLLMENT, AND LICENSING OF VESSELS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATIVE ACT AND THE CUSTOMS RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A REGISTRY OF VESSELS WITHIN THE MEANING OF SAID TITLE," BY PROVIDING THAT THE INSULAR COLLECTOR OF CUSTOMS SHALL PERFORM THE DUTIES OF COMMERCIAL REGISTER CONCERNING THE REGISTERING OF VESSELS, AS DEFINED IN TITLE TWO OF THE CODE OF COMMERCE.

AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED TWELVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT, ENTITLED "AN ACT AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING: REGISTERS OF DEEDS TO PERFORM CERTAIN DUTIES OF COMMERCIAL REGISTERS AS DEFINED IN TITLE TWO OF THE CODE OF COMMERCE, AND PROVIDING THAT THE DOCUMENTING, REGISTRY, ENROLLMENT, AND LICENSING OF VESSELS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATIVE ACT AND THE CUSTOMS RULES AND REGULATIONS SHALL BE DEEMED TO BE A REGISTRY OF VESSELS WITHIN THE MEANING OF SAID TITLE," BY PROVIDING THAT THE INSULAR COLLECTOR OF CUSTOMS SHALL PERFORM THE DUTIES OF COMMERCIAL REGISTER CONCERNING THE REGISTERING: OF VESSELS, AS DEFINED IN TITLE TWO OF THE CODE OF COMMERCE.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that :SECTION 1. Section two of Act Numbered Twelve hundred and eighty-eight, entitled "An Act authorizing and directing registers of deeds to perform certain duties of registers as defined in title two of the Code of Commerce, and providing that the documenting, registry, enrollment, and licensing of vessels in accordance with the Customs Administrative Act and the customs rules and regulations shall be deemed to be a registry of vessels within the meaning of said title," is hereby amended to read as follows :
"SEC. 2 The documenting, registering, enrolling and licensing of vessels in accordance with the Customs Administrative Act and customs rules and regulations shall be deemed to he. a registry of vessels within the meaning of title two of the Code of Commerce, unless otherwise provided in said Customs Administrative Act or in said customs rules and regulations, and the Insular Collector of Customs shall perform the duties of commercial register concerning the registering of vessels, as defined in title two of the Code of Commerce."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.Enacted, May 18, 1909.
