PROCLAMATION NO. 223

DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 6, 1993, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE CITY OF NAGA

WHEREAS, submitted to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) was Naga City Sangguniang Panlungsod Resolution No. 93-116, requesting the COMELEC to annul the first and second notices to hold a referendum on June 9, 1993, the last being on July 24, 1993, and to set a new date preferably on August 6, 1993; aisa dc

WHEREAS, the COMELEC in its Resolution No. 93-1474, dated June 15, 1993 "resolved to approve Resolution No. 93-116 setting the date for the referendum to August 6, 1993, . . .;"

WHEREAS, the people of Naga City should be given full opportunity to participate and vote in this referendum;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book 1, Chapter 7, Section 27 of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Friday, August 6, 1993, as a special day in the City of Naga.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 4th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Three.
