PROCLAMATION NO. 1017

DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 1, 1972, AS MAKATI DAY AND
A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN MAKATI, RIZAL

WHEREAS, Thursday, June 1, 1972, marks the founding of the Municipality of Makati, Province of Rizal; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper to give the residents of this premier municipality of the Philippines the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their town’s history;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALEJANDRO MELCHOR, Executive Secretary, by order of His Excellency, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Thursday, June 1, 1972, as Makati Day and a special public holiday in Makati, Rizal.

Proclamation No. 1012 dated May 17, 1972, is hereby superseded.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 25th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-two.
